Matthew McConaughey Leaves The Gym Oct 13th 2012, 12:33 Matthew McConaughey looks like the LAST place he needs to be is at the gym! Matthew’s losing weight for his role as AIDS activist Ron Woodruff in the movie ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club.’ I can understand losing some weight, but this looks pretty extreme. I hope Matthew isn’t endangering his health: he and Camila Alves have another baby on the way. Matthew must be really committed to this role to go to this length to portray the character. He’s really been stretching himself beyond the rom-com staples he’s famous for with his movies these days. ‘The Paperboy,’ ‘Mud,’ ‘Killer Joe,’ even ‘Magic Mike’ were all different roles for him.
