Christina Aguilera Honored at United Nations Ceremony
Oct 4th 2012, 12:51

Singer and The Voice judge Christina Aguilera was honored by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton yesterday at the George McGovern Leadership Award Ceremony hosted by the United Nations. Aguilera received this special honor because of the great philanthropic work she has done. Best known for her roles as singer, actress, mommy, and sometimes-diva, the blond starlet is also U.N. World Food Program Ambassador. Her work has also helped to raise $115 million for starving children around the world.

This was a night off from the noise about Christina’s weight and other dramas. We love Christina and couldn’t be prouder of this accomplishment. X-Tina Tweeted about the event: "In DC for the George McGovern Leadership Awards at the US Department of State. Proud to use my voice for good & help http://www.fromhungertohope.com.”

Of course it’s nice to be honored by Hillary Clinton and applauded by the UN, but what matters here is Christina’s unending support of important causes to help children less fortunate than her own. Good work!
