It's Off To The Moon For Kate Winslet: Hubby Sends Her To Space… Literally Dec 28th 2012, 17:00 This is the BEST wedding gift I’ve ever heard of! Kate Winslet’s new husband, Ned Rocknroll, has given his bride a trip to space as a wedding present. Newlyweds Kate and Ned will celebrate their marriage with a two-hour trip into orbit, thanks to Ned’s uncle, Sir Richard Branson. Sir Branson’s space flights venture is planning to offer commercial flights above the Earth’s atmosphere starting in 2013. The flights will go 60 miles above the planet; passengers will experience weightlessness and see the Earth’s curve. OMG! Being a smart guy, Ned suggested his uncle make the trip a gift to the couple. I say this is smart because tickets for these flights will go for 124,000 pounds (a little over $200,000 in US currency). Ashton Kutcher and Russell Brand reportedly have already bought tickets for the flights. Sir Branson said previously Kate wanted to make the trip. “She wants to go into space. I’m not sure she wants to go on a one-way trip to Mars, but she wants to go into space.” Amazing gift! More details about Kate’s and Ned’s wedding are beginning to come out. The couple reportedly exchanged rings worth a little over $400,000. They must be gorgeous! Although they had a small, private ceremony in New York City, the newlyweds reportedly plan to have a bigger party celebrating their nuptials with family and friends at Necker Island next year.
