Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge Respond To Death Of Nurse Fooled By Prank Call Dec 7th 2012, 17:30 This is so sad. The nurse who was fooled by two Australian DJs, who were impersonating The Queen and Prince Charles on the phone, has been found dead. It is a suspected suicide, although the death is still under investigation. Jacintha Saldanha was the nurse who answered the phone, believed the DJs really were royalty, and transferred the call to Kate Middleton’s private nurse, who talked about how the duchess was doing. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a statement. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha. Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.” I can see where this was embarrassing, and people were likely extremely angry with both nurses, but it wasn’t worth anyone’s LIFE.
