Is Kate Middleton Expecting Twins? Dec 4th 2012, 20:30 I can’t believe people are speculating on this THIS early, but really, it’s not shocking. Word has it Kate Middleton may be pregnant with twins. What makes people say this? Because of her severe morning sickness. Medical experts told ABC News that hyperemesis gravidarum is thought to be brought on by especially high levels of the pregnancy hormone hCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin. If you’re pregnancy with twins, then you get the extra hCG that comes from two fetuses. It seems like the duchess is so early in her pregnancy, even the doctors may not know if she’s having twins or not yet! This is probably why Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William were trying not to announce her pregnancy just yet (her hospitalization seems to have tipped their hand).
