Mariah Carey Has High Hopes For Nicki Minaj Feud Jan 8th 2013, 16:30 Mariah Carey knows the deal. She opened up to Barbara Walters about her feud with her fellow ‘American Idol’ judge Nicki Minaj. Mariah said the arguing got so bad, Nicki threatened to shoot her. “It felt like an unsafe work environment. Anytime anybody’s reeling threats at somebody, you know, it’s not appropriate. I’m a professional. I’m not used to that type of environment.” So that’s why Mariah hired more security. Scary! Then Mariah added in what everyone’s probably thinking: “For all the drama, I hope it helps the show.” Nick Cannon said he never went so far as being worried about his wife’s safety. “I wasn’t concerned. That’s exactly what you called it – drama. With drama, it’s theatrics. I’m not worried about that stuff. I wasn’t there. It made for good news. It sounded good, right?
